787 Dreamliner Nearing Certification Says Boeing

Boeing on Thursday says it is nearing FAA flight certification for the 787 Dreamliner.  The flight test are on track for delivery later this year.  Boeing has completed 60% of flight testing for Dreamliners equipped with GE GEnX engines and 80% complete for Rolls Royce equipped airframes.

FAA Reverses Itself On Extra Plane Spacing For 787 and 747-8

The Seattle Times is reporting that the FAA has rescinded it’s previous advisory suggesting that planes following the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the 747-8 would have to maintain a ten mile separation between planes.
